The story of Nokian Metallirakenne started back in 1972 in Nokia, over 50 years ago. It all started with producting small structures and since the 1980’s larger entities have been the backbone for the company. Today we are a reliable, effective and capable producer of military and civilian needs.
Trough and trough Nokian Metallirakenne Oy has always been a family business. These days we employ 35 professionals of their own field. We have been growing as a company determinedly and our hard work was noticed by the city of Nokia in 2023 when we were named Nokia’s company of the year.
Our 5800 m² premises are located at the Kankaantaka industrial area in Nokia. One of our biggest clients is the Finnish Defence Forces and we are proud of our part in our country’s defence industry. Make no mistake, we are not only a military needs provider. We are also an active operator of different and intriguing civilian projects.
On top of all this we offer our clients product development, operational training and fleet maintenance. Lately our market has spread also to abroad and we are determined to continue this development in the future. One of our biggest prides is producing utilites for war-torn Ukraine.

Quality, the environment and risk management are important to us
.We operate in accordance with the quality standard ISO 9001: 2015 and the AQAP 2110 Edition D, which expands the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015, as well as the environmental system standard ISO 14001: 2015. Our risk management is based on the ISO 31000 standard and it is integrated into the organisation’s functions and processes.
In addition, our operations, product manufacturing and quality management comply with several different reference standards and product-specific manufacturing specifications.
Certified quality in steel structures

Welding quality management system is certified according to ISO 3834-2: 2021.
The manufacture and quality control of CE-marked welded steel structures in accordance with EU Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 is certified in accordance with EN 1090-1: 2009 + A1: 2011 in the implementation classes EXC1, EXC2 and EXC3.
